Product description

JOAN BENNETT The actress gives a testimonial for the diet "Candy", Ayds Document Signed: "Joan Bennett" in ink, 1p, 8½x11. No place, no date. Headed: "Schedule 'A' - Testimonial Release". Typed text of her testimonial. In part: "As a child, I was looked upon as the 'ugly duckling' of the family...It was not until I was grown and in need of money that I turned to the stage. My famous father, Richard Bennett, offered me a role in a play and I took it...The first time I stepped before a camera, I was self-conscious and a little unsure of myself. Coming from a theatrical family I knew, however, the importance of a good figure to an actress...Thank goodness, in 1951, I discovered an amazing vitamin and mineral candy called Ayds, which actually has helped keep me slim over the years. Take a look at any of my photographs if you want proof. And keep in mind that I'm the mother of four daughters...I simply use the reducing-plan candy Ayds. It actually helps me make my appetite behave...With Ayds, you never starve yourself...The candy curbs my appetite and that keeps my weight down. With Ayds, I automatically eat less because I want less and so lose weight naturally...I've used both vanilla caramel and chocolate fudge-type Ayds. I have a slight preference for Chocolate Ayds. I've had such success with Ayds, I've persuaded my daughters to keep them on hand, too." Joan Bennett (1910-1990), the daughter of stage actor Richard Bennett and sister of screen actresses Constance and Barbara Bennett, starred in over 40 films, including Bulldog Drummond (1929), Little Women (1933), Father of the Bride (1950) and We're No Angels (1955). Active on the stage in the 1960s, she also starred in the TV series, Dark Shadows (1966-1971), and appeared in a number of made-for-television movies. On thin paper. Lightly creased. Staple holes at blank left margin. Fine condition. - Please contact us if you have any questions or require additional information. HFSID 272479
